Brief

To create a marketing campaign for a film you will need to include a teaser trailer, a poster and a magazine front cover. All of this will contribute to promoting the film and getting people around to notice and recognise it. The teaser trailer, poster and magazine front cover are all going to have a sense of unity and the potential audience should be able to see the link between all 3. Im going to record everything on a blog however I haven't decided what genre I'm going to base my teaser trailer on yet so to start off with I'm going to look at conventions of a teaser trailer, poster and magazine cover regardless of the genre.

For example, below each will link in some way.
The poster, magazine cover and teaser trailer all have some unity within. Its important that they all have some link and that you can recognise that they come from the same film because then people will start recognising the film in different places and therefore make more people want to go watch it, if they are seeing advertised in a lot of places. There is always usually unity in a marketing campaign. In the one below you can see that Daniel Radcliffe (the main character) is shown in each of them, and therefore you can tell they are from the same film

Im not sure what genre of film, I'm going to create a campaign for yet so I'm going to do some general research into the conventions a poster, magazine cover and teaser trailer.

Theatrical and Teaser trailer 2

Theatrical trailer Teaser Trailer Theatrical  Slower editing  More speech  Depth into storyline  More than one type of music  Teaser  The editing was much quicker You don't understand what the story is about  One piece of music all the way  Visual effects  Both  Production company logo Images from the film  Name of film  Release date Format  Social media - Website

Poster 4 - Beauty and the Beast

This poster is from the fantasy genre. I again found consistency in the conventions on the posters. This poster consists, of a website, billing, production company logo, title, wise-en-scene, tagline, central, image of actor, actors name, reference to pro book.

Comparing theatrical and teaser trailers

I have analysed a teaser trailer and a theatrical trailer from the 2 movies, ‘Noah’  and ‘Ghost in the shell’. I have looked at similarities and differences between trailers, between both films as I think this will help my understanding.  NOAH GHOST IN THE SHELL
