I have looked at conventions of movie posters and now I am going to look at conventions of a move posters. I have looked at 20 magazine covers and looked into what they are about, and now I am going to look at magazine cover and analyse their conventions. The 2 film magazines I have picked are completely different and I am going to see if they share conventions, in terms of their layout and design.
TOTAL FILM
The first magazine I analysed was Total Film. This is a magazine that features Hollywood movies and involves recognisable a-list stars. It is a UK based film magazine and is published ever four weeks.
SIGHT AND SOUND
Sight and Sound is a British monlthy film magazine, it covers independent British European and world cinema, rather than main Hollywood. It is aimed at a slightly older more sophisticated, cine-litterate audience.
From doing this task I discovered that conventions of magazine cover conventions are very similar no matter the genre or who their target audience is. However even though the type of conventions are the same, they are styled differently. For example when making my own magazine cover I am going to closely look at who my target audience is and direct it to them, by focussing on font and colour.
